Why Healthy Shopping at the Supermarket is Difficult
Just walking through the grocery store what you see all kinds of food labeling that is intended to disguise the true nature of the products. Each aisle presents you with food that should be healthy but in reality it is not. Healthy foods to eat should be easier to find in the supermarket.
What really bothers me is when I see good natural food on the shelf next to its synthetic counterparts and make claims to be more conducive to good health than the natural version. They do this in spite of the fact that they know their products contain harmful ingredients. Still they have the audacity to say that their garbage food is good for you. This really hurts if you are looking for some ways that you can shed weight quickly.
The really awful part about the way food is marketed on a daily basis is that it causes people to act on bad information. people think that what they’re buying is good for them but in reality it’s not Here are a couple examples of what I’m talking about:
1. Products that are supposed to be better than peanut butter. Products like these are incredible. How could anyone believe that a synthetic product can ever be better than peanut butter that is natural?
To begin with, your organic product is going to contain peanuts and salt. The mislabeled item (the so-called healthy alternative) has all kinds of dangerous chemical components. To make things worse, they take out the healthy fat just so it can be labeled as a low-fat product. Doing this takes out an essential part of the product that controls appetite and the amount of blood sugar.
To make it even worse there is usually a couple syrups little sugary plus some cane juice and artificial starches added in. I guess they think you need even more carbs to spike your blood sugar.
Here we have something like peanut butter that is natural and they have turned it into something that is really bad for you. They should never be allowed to say that their product is better than regular peanut butter. Don’t succumb to these ploys.
2. Egg-like products said to be a healthy alternative to eggs. This type of product is nothing more than egg whites with artificial colors and flavors as well as other garbage including additional synthetic vitamins.
With the yolks removed, the most nutritional part is gone. The people that say that yolks are bad for you just don’t have a proper understanding of nutrition. The product you really are looking for our eggs from free roaming chickens.
It seems like a lot of people don’t realize that the yolk is good for them because of the anti-oxidant qualities and natural vitamins it contains. You just don’t get this important nutrition without the yolks.
Also, contrary to popular belief, the cholesterol found in eggs is good for you, not bad. You see what happens is that it increases your good kind of cholesterol. Also whole eggs provide fat that is healthy. All said and done you get better nutrition from whole eggs rather than just the egg whites. Claiming otherwise is just a lie.
3. Products that are supposedly better than butter. This type of product is really just margarine and trans fats. This of course is the unhealthy kind of trans fats. So the claim to be better than butter is just wrong. You could get some cheap butter and it will still be better than a margarine products. Although butter can have problems with pesticides and other chemicals that result from cows that were not fed properly. That’s why you should always choose butter that is from an organic supply. Of course if you can find butter from a grass fed supply you’ll do even better. Because it’s organic, butter has conjugated linoleic acid; it can be very helpful if you add some of it to your vegetables so you can absorb more vitamins and minerals from them.
Butter is one of the best oils you can use to cook with because it has saturated fats. Other oils have polyunsaturated fats and are detrimental to your health. A good example of this type of oil is safflower.
In closing, you need to be reminded that butter’s saturated fat content is not bad.
